Overview
A governmental research agency asked Solomon Bruce Consulting to conduct an organizational climate survey of all professional and classified staff employees.
Opportunity
Western Transportation Institute, affiliated with Montana State University, is the nation’s largest national university transportation center. The Institute recognized that strong organizational health allows for happier and more productive employees. This survey documented where organizational strengths currently existed and where opportunities for enhanced improvements could be made.
The organization was developing a new strategic plan and wanted to survey all employees as to their feeling about the organizational health of the research institute. Because the organization is a strong engineering research based organization, the requirement for a licensed Professional Engineer was necessary.
Approach
Solomon Bruce Consulting collaborated with Institute staff to develop an online survey instrument that employed a Likert Scale to ascertain employee satisfaction/dissatisfaction/improvement with several specific areas unique to the organization. We conducted the survey, analyzed the data obtained, and identified potential areas for changes which should allow for increased organizational satisfaction and efficiency.
Results
The client noted that Solomon Bruce Consulting “provided understanding of our unique issues, clarity on their approach, and insight into transformiong data into information from their survey of staff and improving the organization.”
