A Pay Raise When There is No Money in Budget

A millennial friend told us today that he asked his boss for a pay raise. His boss said there was no money in the budget for a raise. Our millennial friend suggested that money is not the motivator for many. What about time off? What about working 4 –10 hour days and take Friday off? What about job sharing? What about tele commuting? What about more leave days?
